01

Eligible Accounts & Instruments

All trading platforms and account types are permitted. Participants can use any tradable financial instruments, including derivatives, spot assets, or physical stocks. However, only live trading accounts with real funds of at least 10,000 EUR, USD, GBP, or CHF are eligible. Demo accounts, synthetic results, or simulated performance are not accepted.
02

Approved Broker Jurisdictions

Accounts must be held with brokers regulated in one of the following jurisdictions: the European Union, the United States, Canada, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, Israel, New Zealand, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, or Chile. If a broker falls outside this list, WSOT may review and approve it upon request.
03

Fair Play & Account Ownership

The account must be registered in the participant's name. Both physical persons and legal entities (companies) may enter. If a person owns a company, both the individual and the company may participate separately, provided they register only one account each. Participants cannot register more than one trading account in the competition. This rule exists to maintain fairness, prevent result manipulation, and promote a genuine display of skill.
04

Permitted Trading Styles

All trading styles are permitted, including discretionary, systematic, and fully automated strategies, as long as they are legal and executed on live accounts. There is no requirement for trading frequency or activity level this is not a competition of volume, but of quality, decision‒making, and true trading performance.
05

Ranking Categories

There are three rankings in the competition. The Global Ranking includes all verified and active participants. The Stock Trading Ranking is limited to accounts trading only physical stocks. All other strategies, including those trading CFDs, forex, crypto, and other instruments, fall under the Derivatives Ranking. Trading stocks as CFDs or engaging in leveraged instruments places the trader in the Derivatives Ranking, not the Stock Ranking.
06

Official Entry & Account Verification

A participant is officially included in the competition after submitting a valid broker statement showing the account’s equity and balance at the time of entry. This can include accounts with open positions, as long as the equity is clearly documented. Statements must reflect the account’s condition either right before the competition begins (if the market is closed), at the moment of entry, or at any time afterwards if the participant joins later. However, registrations are not accepted within the final 30 calendar days of the competition.
07

Weekly Performance Updates

Each week, participants must submit updated account statements through the WSOT website or by email. These statements must show the current equity, account number, account holder’s name, and include any deposits or withdrawals made. These capital flows are factored into performance evaluation. Failure to provide updates for more than three consecutive weeks may result in disqualification and exclusion from the rankings.
08

Integrity & Auditing

WSOT reserves the right to audit participants by contacting their broker or requesting confirmation from regulatory bodies or other third parties. Our goal is to maintain the integrity of the competition and ensure all submitted results are valid and verifiable.
09

Real-World Trading Philosophy

There is no obligation to trade constantly or show steady returns. We value the reality of professional trading, with its ups and downs. This competition welcomes participants who trade honestly, as they would in any professional setting.
10

The participant who achieves the highest overall equity growth in the Global Ranking will be named the 2025 WSOT Champion. In addition, the winners of the Stock Trading Ranking and Derivatives Ranking will each receive dedicated titles and official recognition. All three category winners will undergo additional verification and will be awarded the official WSOT Champion Awards.

WSOT Performance Metrics Calculation

Performance Calculation

Performance is measured based on the percentage change in equity from one reporting period to the next. Participants must submit weekly account statements, and the performance will be updated accordingly.
Weekly Performance (%) = ((Equity_End - Equity_Start + Withdrawals - Deposits) / Equity_Start) × 100
The formula accounts for capital flows by subtracting deposits and adding withdrawals, ensuring that equity growth reflects actual trading performance only. These weekly values are compounded to track total performance throughout the competition.

Calmar Ratio

The Calmar Ratio is calculated by dividing the participant’s annualised return by their maximum drawdown since the beginning of the competition. It is updated weekly based on cumulative performance and updated drawdown.
Calmar Ratio = ((1 + R)^(52 / n) - 1) / Max Drawdown
Where:
R = cumulative return (as a decimal, e.g., 0.25 for 25%)
n = number of weeks elapsed
Max Drawdown = absolute value of highest historical drawdown (see below)
This ratio reflects the risk‒adjusted performance of the trader over time.

Drawdown (Maximum Drawdown)

Drawdown is calculated as the maximum observed decline in equity from any historical peak to any subsequent low, based on the weekly updates submitted by the trader.
Max Drawdown (%) = ((Trough Equity - Peak Equity) / Peak Equity) × 100
Each week, WSOT compares the current equity to the highest equity reported so far to track any drop. The maximum drawdown value is updated continuously as new data becomes available.
